A piece of history

Last week I got myself a mosin nagant 91/30 rifle. I had already shot the rifle once before when I was considering buying it from my friend, to make sure everything was there and in working order.
The ten days I had to wait for this beauty seemed to take forever but it was well worth the wait. The rifle was produces towards the end of WW2 in
Butt plate serial
Bolt  serial
Magazine cartridge serial, possibly re-stamped.
1943, has matching matching serial numbers but the bayonet sadly does not. Its not much of a collectors item anyways as it is a late war Izhevsk production with a round receiver. matching serial numbers but the bayonet sadly does not. Its not much of a collectors item anyways as it is a late war Izhevsk production with a round receiver. Because of its late production date and pristine condition of the near century old rifle I highly doubt it has been used in combat but love the firearm regardless.
With the bayonet this thing is around 4 feet long!
I already have plans to mount a scope and work the stock and hand guard to allow the rifle to reach its full potential, but for now I am just happy cleaning out all the cosmoline and getting ready to go shooting with it again.
